By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jun. 1: With 5,285 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed on Tuesday, the nation’s novel coronavirus tally has reached 566,587.
In 17,147 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the past 24 hours, a total of 5,285 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2, informed the Ministry of Health and Population in its daily update.
Likewise, out of 3,018 antigen tests done on the last day, the virus infection was detected in 800 people.
Currently, there are 104,789 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation.
Meanwhile, 6,898 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 454,344 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is 80.2 per cent.
The Ministry of Health and Population on Tuesday added 68 fatalities to the nation’s COVID-19 death toll, which has now reached 7,454.
