By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 5: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed 381 new cases of COVID-19 today.
Of the 6,359 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 381 persons were found with the virus infection, informed Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today.
The new cases were detected in Sunsari, Ilam, Saptari, Udayapur, Morang, Sarlahi, Saptari, Dhanusa, Mahottari, Siraha, Parsa, Bara, Gorkha, Kapilvastu, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Makwanpur, Rautahat, Dhading, Sindhupalchowk, Syangja, Baglung, Kaski, Banke, Dang, Surkhet, Kalikot and Bajhang.
Meanwhile, 130 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment at various health facilities across the nation were discharged in the last 24 hours after recovering from the virus.
The recovery rate now stands at 70.08 per cent.
Currently, there are 6,174 active cases of COVID-19, and 9,925 people, mostly the returnees from abroad, are in quarantine.
With this, the national COVID-19 tally has reached 21,390 including 15,156 cases of recovery and 60 death cases.
